How we will use data

CommonGround campaigns for a fair and open society – and honest politics. Our supporters help us to achieve this through volunteering, campaigning for change and donating money. CommonGround will communicate with supporters in relation to activity that they have signed up for. Accordingly, their data may be used as follows:

  • Supporters may provide us with their full name, postcode and email address. This data will be used in connection with our newsletters to highlight key campaigns and content.
  • Supporters who wish to volunteer with CommonGround may also share details of their postal address, occupation, skills, campaign interests, age and availability. This data will be used to contact volunteers about campaigning opportunities that they may be interested in.
  • Supporters who choose to sign our petitions consent to sharing their full name, email address and postcode with us. Signatories’ data will only be used in connection with the petition and to send them information to highlight key campaigns and content. Signatories’ names will be displayed on the website underneath the relevant petition.
  • We also keep a record of supporters who have donated to CommonGround and our communications with them accordingly.
  • From time to time, we may promote other organisations’ campaigns and activities. Any information you pass on to such organisations will not be collected by CommonGround and will be governed by their own privacy policies.
